Whoah! A review?! Yes, a review. However, I prefer not to call it a review. I call it the ‘Beauty Bag’. Whatever I pick from the Beauty Bag is indeed going to be reviewed. So today, we have the Etude House Total Age Repair Effective Two-Way Cake SPF48 PA++. I don’t think it is popular nowadays since BB cushions are likely to be bought than a two-way cake foundation. I bought it because I wanted a setting powder (and also something nice in the bag). To be honest, I’m not a fan of two-way cake foundation. You’d be wondering why I bought this. I’ve explained. So let’s get into this review.

Personally, I like it. It looks nice (in my eyes). It looks like a typical BB cushion packaging - bulky. It’s light, so I wouldn’t mind stuffing it in my bag. However its bulkiness is a turn-off. I wish they would have made it slimmer. The mirror is wonderful – Big mirror. Can a girl not complain about mirrors? The product also comes with a sponge. I didn’t display the sponge in the picture because it was too grotesque for me to show you. Usually bloggers would take a picture of the product before using it. I, however, used the product first.

I was told that this powder foundation could help with my dry skin. It is an anti-aging powder foundation. I’ve got shade #2 Natural Beige. It contains 12g of product. I can’t remember the price because I bought it in Korea. I remember the first time I tried it; I used it as a powder foundation. It looked powdery on me because I have dry skin. Then I splashed a bit of water to my face and the foundation sunk in. Perfect! That was winter in Korea. I found a way to make it look as natural as possible. I don’t like to cake up my face. Who does? I like to apply it lightly. Coverage is medium to full coverage. Before applying the product by itself, I make sure I have a base. Primers are important! You know how your skin is like a sponge and it absorbs anything you put on? Yes, put on a base! Then conceal whatever needs to be concealed. And place the powder foundation on top. You can leave it as it is or even sprits a bit of water to let it sink in. I like to leave it as it is because of the weather condition I live with – the tropical weather. The lasting power of this two-way cake foundation last for a good 3-5 hours or so for me before I have to touch up. It is also a matte finish, reduces shine and evens out the skin tone. I personally do not like a matte look. My dry skin makes any dewy foundation look matte.

As long as I’ve used this product, I’ve never had any breakout. This is probably because I would triple cleanse my face. I would make sure nothing is in the pores.

I bet almost everyone in the beauty blogging world would probably know about their skin? Or even, their skincare? Well most. There are people who seem to think they know it all. I, for sure, am not a know-it-all person.

On my previous blog, I blogged about skincare as though I knew everything about it. In fact, I don’t! I just don’t. I am still learning. Every since leaving the skincare industry (work wise), I’ve learnt about my skin. I learnt how dry & sensitive my skin is. It still is! What’s worse? Acne was added. Sigh. This couldn’t get any worse? I was clueless as to how am I going to cure this acne of mine. So I looked through my skincare routine to see if there was anything wrong. Nothing was wrong. I just needed to switch up the products. I switched my skincare routine once in a while. I went from a very high end (and bloody expensive) cleanser to Cetaphil and, my toner to a Garnier astringent. I also switched my moisturiser. If I tell you this, don’t follow. Everyone is different. We all have different skin type. You might have sensitive skin too but it doesn’t mean you should use the same product as I am? No. Find something that could cater to your skin.

Okay back to skincare talk. I did that routine for 6 months. After a good 6 months, my acne stopped. I was surprised. Well, that recovery was also because I didn’t give a fuck what people were staring at. Yes, I got stares. After not giving a fuck about it, my skin became better. Although scars appear to be obvious, I am happy that my skin isn’t at a worst state. Oh, excuse my French. It just had to be said. If you get stares, don’t care for it! One thing I learnt throughout this process, I can’t wear face oil. I find that it clogs my pores. You know what happens when your pores get clogged.

If you care so much for your skin, stop caring what other people are thinking or even staring at. Find the solution. Go to a dermatologist if you can’t solve it. Once you stop caring what other people are thinking, everything will go as according the way you want it to be.

Also, just because a blogger blogs about a certain product doesn’t mean you should purchase it too. Rather than spending so much money on products and realising those products aren’t working on your skin then complaining it was a waste of money, keep the money and save up for a dermatologist. Remember, beauty products have expiry dates. You don’t want to pile it up and regretting about purchasing the product once you find out it has expired. If you have found the right product for you, good! Keep it. Don’t remove it from your routine just because someone else says it isn’t working on them.

Back to blogging. Probably no one is reading this. That doesn’t matter. I’m here to write my thoughts. Nothing else but thoughts. I don’t want to think how my blog should be. Whether it’d be fashion or beauty, I can’t be bothered to categorize my blog. Like I said before, I am here to blog.

I’ve been away from blogging for years. Why? Let’s be honest. No inspiration. I got bored of it. I felt like I was also limiting myself. Well here it is – a slow start. At least start something rather than coming out with nothing.
So how is everyone? All well? I guess so. Last year I had my goal in fitness. I still do. I fell sick with dengue. Wow, there goes my start. Wait! That’s not the end of it. I will continue my goal. It is a lifetime goal. I’m not in it for the trend. I want to do it because I want to be healthy. I want a bikini body. Is that something wrong? No. We all want something. So how am I going to do it? First, print out Kayla Itsines’ PDFs. Yes, I need to do it. I’ve done the workout before. However, I find that it is better to print it out rather than looking it from a device – my iPhone. Secondly, get better. Get well from dengue. That’s fitness.

Last month I got a job offer. I accepted it. I was supposed to start this week. Then, I had dengue. I called in the first morning and I also sent my MC to the company (via email). I did this system where I emailed the MC as soon as I got it – notifying the company. The next day I called the company and said that I would come in to discuss about a better start date. I went. Well, the boss said himself I could take my time to recover. So I said OK. He probably understood. You can sense how serious I am about this job. This is someone’s job we are talking about. Not some joke. I got a call today. He said he’s got bad news. I didn’t get the job. WHAT? I asked him why he didn’t tell me the day I came in. He said ‘well, you were sick’. Is that a reason to stop from discussing? How professional was that... Then only he told me that he needed to have a replacement as soon as possible. What got me irritated was how he conveyed the message. He probably thought I wasn’t serious about coming in to work. I came to the office to discuss about starting date, how was that not serious? He also thought that he could just drop the news like an FYI. Just so you know, I planned to come in on this coming Monday. So I’m irritated but this also means I shouldn’t be working for companies like that. This is me not even working there yet and there is poor communication. I was there. What was hard about communicating?
